HDR fail. I'm forever seeing cool HDR shots... I gave it a go and it looks as though I just need to find the right subject. This is 9 shots at different exposures laid on top of one another and massaged to show detail everywhere and not get lost in shadows or highlights.

This is Gracie, she is a dog at the KY Humane Shelter that we went to look at... how sad do those living conditions look? I think she should come home with us!

A little angry at my lack of creativity today... got this weird reflection from something. I think was from the viewfinder not being closed off when I used the remote to fire the camera. Nikon SB-24 shot at my face at quarter power.

Was hanging out at my brother in law's place after having a profound dinner at El Nopalito and this Geisha girl shows up to pick up her car. I know not who she was, I just asked if I could take her picture.

Day 2 of randomly asking someone if I could take their picture. I saw this guy at Ear X-tacy and just asked him if I could take his picture. He asked why and what I wanted him to do and I said, "just do your thing, and I'll do mine." He turned out to be a really cool dude just as his beard, mustache and fedora suggested.

Day 44/365 - Yim Yames at the Rudyard Kipling 25th Anniversary Benefit. I sat in line for 4 hours and waited another 4 to see him play. All proceeds went to the Salvation Army.

Day 45/365 - Full Moon. Shot using sunny 16 rule for the most part. The moon is lit by the sun therefore you shoot it like you are shooting a sunny day. F16 at ISO 200 and 1/25oth.

Day 46/365 - I shot George & Amy's wedding today... here's the cake. I drug the shutter to get a little motion blur around the centerpiece.

Day 47/365 - Random balloons over the house...

Day 48/365 - Foggy Louisville. I took this from the top of some outdoor stairs on a building in my business park. I was about 4 stories up and almost got rid of the 2 story building roof in the right hand corner. The river was blanketed with a dense layer of fog that covered most of the buildings for much of the morning. I wish I would have had time to walk the bridge and take some closer shots.

My Birthday

Today is my birthday and my folks came by to take me to my favorite restaurant, El Nopal! Mmmm... Chips and salsa and cheese, beer and margaritas! My Mom got a little tipsy and my Dad didn't because he had a water (coors... light). When they got to the house I had some lights set up and the camera on the tripod to get my photo of the day. Lit us with an umbrella at camera left and lit the background with an umbrella at the wall for separation.
