My Birthday

Sept 30, 2009 Day 43/365

Today is my birthday and my folks came by to take me to my favorite restaurant, El Nopal! Mmmm... Chips and salsa and cheese, beer and margaritas! My Mom got a little tipsy and my Dad didn't because he had a water (coors... light). When they got to the house I had some lights set up and the camera on the tripod to get my photo of the day. Lit us with an umbrella at camera left and lit the background with an umbrella at the wall for separation.

...and I'm up to speed!

Sept 26, 2009 - Day 39/365
2009 Ales for Tales event at Bridge Liquors in New Albany benefiting the Floyd Co. Humane Society. This is Butters, a 5 year old terrier/pug mix that needs a home.

Sept 28, 2009 - Day 41/365
Took a lunch walk today around the grounds at my office. Had the Lensbaby in my bag and nabbed this shot of one of the soon to be restored train repair buildings. Jeffersonville, IN.

Sept 29, 2009 Day 42/365
This is my endeavor... I have taken on scanning this stack of 21 slide trays and given myself a goal of one tray a week. It's one of those dorky OCD things I like to do; I just wish I was OCD enough to clean my desk first.
This was shot with three flashes, one full CTO handheld over the stacks, on green gelled behind the stack and a bare flash camera right at 45 deg in front.

project 365

I've fallen behind... i have still been taking my photos but doing a little too much procrastinating in posting them daily and have been told by a few folks they'd like to see the updates daily so I will post updates below to get up to speed and then be posting daily again. Thanks for sticking in there and feel free to lend some suggestions as to what you'd like to see me shooting. Cheers!

Sept 23rd - Day 36/365 - Alley shot of a backyard in Jeffersonville, IN. Shot with Nikon F4 with c41 Kodak Professional B&W film.

Sept 24 - Day 37/365 - Steel/Metal bride statue in Jeffersonville, IN by the wastewater treatment plant. I don't know where this statue was supposed to be but it's in a junk pile at the moment. Shot with a Nikon F4 with T-MAX 400 B&W film.

Sept 25 - Day 38/365 - I was asked by a client of a water company we work for if I wanted to go along and see what they did when the flushed a hydrant. Lew set this shot up for me by diverting the flow to shoot from the hydrant at a 45 degree angle to add a killer arch to the water and shot it about 70 ft.

Sept 27 - Day 40/365 - Jimmy Angelina of the band Deer Meet working on song titles in their studio in Fern Creek.
